| MIŃSK COUNTY AWARD |

LAURA is the Mińsk County Award established in 2002 from the initiative of Comitee of Culture, Sport and Recreation of The Mińsk County Council. A statuette combining ancient and contemporary elements, made by the artist of visual art, Andrzej Sołtysiuk, presents a figure of a woman. The name of the Award was derivated from the word “laur”, which represents a prize for a winner since the antiquity. The Award is given annually for artistic, economic and social achievements both individual and common, which serve to develop and promote Mińsk County in the following categiories: science and education, art and culture, sport, development of enterprise, farming and protection of an environment, social work for the benefits of the community. |
